It's another snow day here! Dh is home. I don't have to go to work (as a nanny) tonight. :)
Let's look at some snow pics...
I love my model. :) Kipper tries to eat snow.
Our snow covered sandbox.
It needed some graffitti on it!
A paw print from my "model."
The car has a blanket of snow.
Hehe I walked out in the snow in my Steve Madden heels. Just because I could.
Our doggies have this toy that has three tennis balls on it so I could not resist photoshopping a smile in!
This is the view of our street with snow at night. I like this pic because the two lights look like hearts! (you probably can't tell it here but in the large pic they do).
So what have we been doing with our snow days?!?!
Made sugar cookies.
Harrison helped me with the frosting.
Got the frosting recipe from this book.
Worked on my embroidery...still learning.
Painted a dollar store frame for my living room. It was a cheapy gold color. Now I love it!
Dressed our pets in snow fashions.
Jumped for joy when Harrison's boots arrived from See Kai Run.
Revived a ceramic ladybug by gluing her legs back on.
Built lego towers.
Opened up some fresh playdough. Don't you love the smell of new playdough?? Oh, and new crayons? I am a nerd.
Watched our pets eat.
Harrison is in love with the new Nickelodeon show Olivia.
We collect lego figures and right now Spiderman and Indiana Jones have been Harrison's favorites.
So that is how our snow days have been going.
I went to the dr. this morning and everything checks out fine.
Before the snow storm I was able to do a little scraft (scrapbooking + craft= luv) shopping...
I really love Friendly Forest. I got the papers and stamps.
So last week we got to see Walking with the Dinosaurs. H won the coloring contest and we were able to go...
A sneaky pic.
Okay all of this piled on my desk is sheets of wax paper.
The school was throwing stuff out of storage and I have happily volunteered for anything they want to send my way. :) I am not 100% sure what I am going to do with all this paper but I know I could do some melt crayon art or something.
Maybe make a giant kazoo??
We went to the science museum last week, too. Some shots to share:
I love the movement in this pic of the trains.
Lego racing is fun. There is a table full of Legos and K'nex and you build racers and race them against others.
This was also in the building area. My best attempt at a log cabin.
The vacum experiments are fun, too. I love putting several cups in the tube at once. This is Harrison's favorite activity at the science museum.
Well, I started a scrapbook page last night but I am not sure where I am going with it. I need some motivation!

Playing with photos today :)
It is snowing and icy outside here in Oklahoma. School was out today and is also closed tomorrow. It is nice to have Ben home. :)
I have a dr. appointment early early in the morning (ugh-more labwork) and I hope they are open (I will call before leaving). I also have to work tomorrow night so I hope the streets are clear by then.
I took tons of snow pics today and will post them soon. We plan to go sledding tomorrow after my appt.
More photo luv:
^^Tina in the looking glass. I like this pic of me. :) And that is rare!
I LOVE this one of H sleeping. I used a layer based on a photo I saw in flickr from Rachel Denbow.
Oh, and I absolutely related to her flickr post of this photo:
It just struck me so deep! The photo is "Migrant Mother" by Dorothea Lange, 1936. A print of that photograph is going to be hanging in my living room soon...
This one I love the vintage feel of it! H is outside stomping in mud. Boys!
This is my all-time favorite....
Harrison wearing his snow boots.
I'm going to make a print for grandma. :)

^My favorite all-time movie.
So I have received a lot of emails from friends asking me about my health and all. I am doing fine. I just needed a break and to take some time to relax. I had to adjust some stuff on my blog but now it is open again. Hugs to everyone!
So let's talk about today...
Today I continued to work on my embroidery piece. I started it a few days ago--I've been using flower patterns I bought from Elsie to sew on it. I am making an area of the living room a woodland-type theme. I have been wanting to redecorate the house forever (have not done so since our wedding), and I want to start out small with stuff I make or alter myself.
Today it is raining ice now. I stepped out on the porch to test it--SLICK!
Today I went to Mapquest and checked email.
Today I am about to go bake a cake.
Today Ben and I lit cinammon candles and drank hot cocoa and ate Cheerios together for breakfast.
Today I talked to my mom and she made me laugh so hard with her stories.
Today I painted some lyrics for Harrison's room.
Today I thought about Janice and even visited her blog because I missed her so much. She passed away last week. I did not find out until a few days later. I am not even sure what happened but she was the friendliest person. So caring. I am going to miss her...
Today I browsed some books I got recently on knitting and crocheting...my mom is going to teach me and Ben has been giving me painting tips.
Today I plan on scrapbooking tonight. :)
Have a happy day everyone!!!!

I am writing this post in between dyeing my hair (brownish black), and trying to trim my son's hair. Bear with me...I have to be sneaky like a ninja to trim the sides of his hair--he is an extremely light sleeper!!! I am also watching a re-broadcast of the inaguration. I am like the only person who seriously missed it this morning (I slept in...) and so I feel like grand master idiot for missing it.
I did not really go insane (see post below) in case you are wondering!
So Friday early morning I started feeling like I was going to faint at times and really weak. I tried to blow it off (like us mom's often do!) as me just being overstressed and tired. Plus, I also never eat right (just grab what I can throw in my mouth quickly while on the run). Then the weakness feeling got worse as the day progressed. By the way, how come medical stuff always has to happen as the doctor offices are closing?!? I started to suspect anemia because I had a lot of the symptoms and my mom and grandma have it. Long story short, when I felt too weak to eat (as in could not lift the fork) I knew I had to get checked out. Yup, anemia. I have to tell you the only downside to taking iron tablets and vitamin C is the really salty taste in your mouth 24-7. Anyway, I get to cut down on my iron tablet taking amount after awhile (but still have to take it daily just not in such large quantity). Also, my thinking is going to be cloudy for a few days. I proved this today by messing up an etsy order (sorry LA!) but situation should be fixed now.
Let's talk about more stuff that almost drove me insane...
Our week started with a letter from the IRS...not an audit but we do have to submit some receipts (that we sure do have...we keep all that stuff in a filing cabinet...the one thing I am tidy about keeping up with...).
Ben and Harrison got into a fender bender at Sonic. The lady hit the back of our car because she was TALKING ON THE CELL and READING A MAGAZINE--while driving.
(This happened a week ago...)One of our cats appeared to have a stroke but it ended up being a cut (we never saw it...it was not noticeable!) that had become infected and had to be drained...he had to have anesthesia because the abscess had to be drained. He had to spend the night at the vet. We run a zoo so you are probably used to our "hurt animals" stories by now!
I started a new job. I still do the blog advertising from home (just emailed a lead--yay!) but I am now an on-call nanny. I am loving everything about it. It kind of gets me back into teaching in that I get to play learning games, crafts, etc but not in a school, structured environment.
BRB have to cut son's hair LOL...
Ben has an interview next week with a new school. They called him before Christmas Break but now he has an official date set. Send good thoughts our way! He would love to work for this district.
Anyway, all this stuff makes you think there is Tina voodoo doll or something out there. There isn't. You know why?? Because in the long run it was all just "little bumps" in the road of life--everything I listed above has been fixed or is manageable. Thank God! So now you understand why last week was a little bizarre for me and why I have been MIA.
My new goals are to eat an actual meal instead of "whatever I can grab!", sleep more, drink more water, maybe exercise (??? I can hope...), and spend less time online (because I never set limits for myself).
I have to say Ben has been an awesome "nurse"--making sure I eat all my veggies, fruit and get lots of protein (I really avoid beef--always have--but hey it has iron!). He let me buy some stuff I was coveting from etsy and do scrap shopping today. God really sent me an angel in him.
Thanks also to my online friend Krissy for checking in on me. :)
So let's talk about sunshine stuff...
Congrats to the new digital team over at ScrapCity!
Harrison has been watching Fraggle Rock dvd's-his latest fave...he sleeps with his Red doll. :) She is so cute, too!
I tried to get him to paint today but he didn't want to. I still feel tired so I read quite a bit today (a mystery book!) when I was not doing Red's voice or playing sock puppets with H.
Still watching the inaguration re-play. We bought the USA Today issue (being a scrapbooker I always buy the newspapers announcing events--9/11,the war, new president, etc). I could not find a local paper AT ALL...it was like people went and bought cart fulls or something! We looked everywhere,too...I saw some of the online pics of people reacting as they viewed the inaguration. This one was my fave...
description: Jan. 20: Farrington James, a homeless man, cries as he watches President Barack Obama's inauguration from the Lord's Place homeless shelter in West Palm Beach, Fla.
I also love these pics:
Our new President's first signature as President! It was on a Proclomation after being sworn in.
No matter who you voted for it feels great to be an American today.
Inauguration Photo Source: All photos are from Yahoo News!
Also I want to share my latest scrapbook pages with you (3 pages)...
I better get back to being a ninja...
p.s. update--I just saw on the news they said Mexico is in crisis? It was just a little blurb on CNN before they show the news...oh my...not only do my relatives live in Mexico but two of my American relatives just left this week to visit them...!!! Hopefully I just heard the news anchor wrong or something...
