Create a mess...

Photobucket
I did not blog very much this weekend...I spent most of the weekend scrapbooking! Here are 2 of the cards I made and I did a whole bunch of Easter pages (in a slideshow ).

I cannot stay online for long unfortunately because we are under a tornado watch here. A watch just means watch the weather, and a warning is when you have to take shelter. Anyway, it getting ready to storm and lightning so I have to keep this short. Hopefully I can blog some more tonight and post some pics! Hope your weekend was awesome!!!!

I am so proud.

Photobucket
I tried to do digital scrapbooking about a year ago. There is no way I would show you that attempt (it really is not that bad), but I am so proud to show you my second attempt.A digital page devoted to my husband Ben. I have also started some hybrid scrapbooking pages. Paper will always be my favorite--I am addicted to the texture of paper, the smell of ink, and the lumpy embellishments--but I am for sure going to do more with digital!

Here Comes The Sun...

Photobucket

Photobucket
I love that Beatles song, don't you??
Thursday was just such a glorious day weather-wise and life-wise!! The redness in Harrison's hand has gone down, and he ate one pancake which is a triumph after three days of not eating solid food!
He felt well enough to request to go outside and I captured some pics of our fun outside. We only stayed outside about 30 minutes because he wanted to come back inside--you know that is a sure sign he is still sick when he is ready to go back in the house so soon.
Photobucket
We did chalk. We wrote his name.
Photobucket
Ben gave him rides in the wagon.
Photobucket
Our grass is so green.
Photobucket
And I totally smelled the grass today. Sounds weird, I know, but I was laying on my stomach and put my head down for a moment. I realized the grass had this wonderful fresh, Spring smell. It was so good I would really wear it as a perfume! Ben laughed at me when I told him that.
Photobucket
The dogs enjoyed the sunshine.
And I played with some Easter candy! LOL
Photobucket
mmmm....
Photobucket
Harrison wanted to eat my "model." I was prepared for this and had a clean set aside for him.
Photobucket
I really do like Peeps!
Photobucket
So I made the Peep model my new banner--yes, I know Easter is over and out, but I think bunnies represent Spring so why not?
Photobucket
These are our new cushions for our outside chairs. Lovely.
And here are the photos of the day for Friday, March 28.

A hard-knock life...

Photobucket
(my baby sleeping...)
Oh, what a day. I called the pediatrician this morning because Harrison's hand was swollen, red and had what appeared to be wounds (which I thought he received from teething by biting his fingers). Then my mother came over and said, "Looks like impetigo." I was like, "aw,heck." So Ben and I take him to the doctor. Nope it is not impetigo, but something worse.
He has a viral skin infection. It is seriously painful. Seriously scary looking. And it just sort of exploded today. Yesterday it just looked like dry skin. So it is on his hands and inside his mouth (spread from chewing on fingers). Ugh.
So while wrapping his hand today (after applying $200 ointment and realizing I already used half the bottle!), he did something so endearing.
He grabbed an Elmo band-aid out of the hall closet, and put it over his gauze bandages while saying, "Mom, my fingers are crying. They hurt. Band-aids make boo boos go away." I thought, if only band-aid fixed everything that easily.
Keep us in your thoughts and pray for fast recovery please!
We had playdates planned for this week with 4 of our friends and had to bail out of them. :( The good news is he should be non-contagious by Sunday. The bad news is the dr. said if he rubs his eyes and it gets in his eyes we have to go to the er and get a surgical opthamologist involved because he could go blind. This is so hard. No one wants to see their child hurt or in pain. I did not even eat today because I was so worried about him!
I am thinking about making a sign like places of employment have...you know the ones that say "accident-free for ___ days?" But ours should say "sick-free for ___days." Like the genius Gilda Radner always said, "It's always something."

dream it, scrap it, live it

I love this girl!

Reunited and it feels so good...plus lemons and other stuff

Photobucket
This must make me a super freak on so many levels but I really love to eat lemons. My husband cannot watch me eat them because he hates sour stuff. So I have been lemon obsessed lately(eating one a day!).
Photobucket
Monday we spent the day with my mom. Which is fun because she pays for everything and keeps me laughing. :) I always argue with her not to pay for stuff but she gets really offended when I do not let her. We spent an hour at my Aunt Judy's house. I have not seen that gal in forever. I have never seen Harrison act so shy and quiet but he was there.
Photobucket
Harrison woke up today not feeling very well. I am not sure if they still teethe at 3 years?? He has been drooling and biting his fingers. He is running a low fever, too.I think I will call his pediatrician Wednesday morning. I hate it when he is sick or in pain. :(
Photobucket
Hmm...this blog chick needs to go to bed and fight the insomnia now.

Fun with Chipboard

Photobucket
I think I am going to start adding a scrapbook tip or tutorial at least once a week.
Here are some simple tricks for today.

FUN WITH CHIPBOARD
by me (tina)

~paint chipboard with fingers
~put Magic Mesh over it
~paint using lace as a mask!
~cover with Prima flowers
~cover with glitter :
paint chipboard first, then put Diamond Glaze or Glossy Accents glue and glitter away!
~cover with paper:
trace chipboard on paper, cut out, add a thin layer of ModPodge to chipboard. Then apply paper with another thin layer of ModPodge on top. Let dry and file or sandpaper sides. :)
~stamp chipboard
~ink it
~doodle on it

In other scrappy news I have been hanging out at the Creating Keepsakes message board lately. I usually belong only to 2-3 small message boards and lurk occasionally at the big ones. I got brave. Or stupid. :( I guess I will see if I end up on Scrap Smack or something.

Frugalities.com scrapbook store is having 49% off right now! (still)

Photobucket
Kodak came out with a newer version of my all in one printer that is sleeker and black. Boo! Mine was considered the newest thang when I got it at Christmas. I would so much rather have black (to match my computer of course) than white. Oh well. There are bigger things to worry about in life.

My lss is having a scrap garage sale next week but I have a dilemma. I can get 5 new 3 ring binder albums (really nice ones!) or go to the garage sale. I think I am going to pick the albums. Ben came home with 2 last night (so sweet) and said I could get 5 more if I wanted. I guess he is the dealer to my scrap crack.

Etc.

This stuff did not fit in with my Easter pics but here's some other pics from this weekend.
Photobucket
While unpacking boxes to put items in the new kitchen, I came across this adorable apron I had bought when my husband and I were newlyweds. Funny, the cooking thing on my part only lasted 2 weeks. Then my darling husband took over. I swear, he really can boil eggs! LOL No, really he is an amazing cook!
Photobucket
My wedding rings. I had trouble getting the diamonds to not go all glitz blurry in the pic while taking it with one hand.
Photobucket
I do this when bored!
Photobucket
This is from my mom's house. She folds all her laundry so delicately. This pic of white wash cloths reminds me of how much of a clean freak she is, but an elegant clean freak.
Photobucket
Another pic at my parent's house. I love, love this photo because it looks like the tomb of Jesus. Wanna know what it is? A tornado shelter!

Eggs-cellant Weekend Fun

{some pics from our weekend}

How to Have an Awesome Easter!!
(written by harrison and mommy)
STEP 1: Dyeing Eggs!
Photobucket
Boil your eggs!
Photobucket
See the pretty dye?!? My hands need some color...
Photobucket
Orange dye
Photobucket
Drop your eggs in. The more force, the better. Make sure you mix them in multiple colors so they also end up puce green.
Photobucket
Now, if you are like my daddy, you did not add any water to the egg cups. Only 100% vinegar. The shells begin to disintegrate. Mom thinks daddy is weird!
Photobucket
Well, some were really pretty...
Photobucket
but others...
Photobucket
not
Photobucket
so
Photobucket
much! (mom says this one resembled a grub worm).
Dad said,"Oops...I guess I did not cook this one long enough." Good thing we were not planning on eating them anyway!!!
Hey, it isn't my fault I found it more fun to throw some eggs!
Photobucket

Photobucket
Then I ran around the house!
And um, the cat threw the egg holder off the counter and the dogs devoured them!!!
Step 2: The Easter Bunny delivers your basket!!
Photobucket
and leaves a trail! (Thankfully it is only carrots!)
Photobucket
Step 3: Pose for pictures in an uncomfortable, overstarched outfit mommy bought just to make her happy!
{see pics in slideshow above!}
Step 4: Change into "man" clothes and hunt eggs!
Photobucket

Step 5: Get lots of candy handfed to you by grandma so she can sugar you up for the trip back home!!!
Photobucket

Photobucket

Step 6: Tattoo daddy!
Photobucket
Tell daddy you want a pirate tattoo and then when he wets it stick it on him!!!

Step 7: Go home, throw toys everywhere, and then run circles around living room with your candy-smeared face!!!
