Here is another butterfly collage a la Ali Edwards. I love making these!!!!
I uploaded 3 scrapbook pages into my slideshow at the top.
Photobucket
Here is a birthday invite I made via photoshop with clipart for Ben! He turns 40 on March 16!!! Of course, you can't read all the writing since I had to try and "cleverly" cover it up. :)
And awesome news!
Our zoo has 4 new lion cubs!!! Remember the pic I posted last week or so of the lions? Well the dad is Azlan and the other two females each gave birth to two cubs. Cuties!!!
Photobucket
You can go to the OKC Zoo website and watch them on cub cam!
Harrison and I made delicioso strawberry cupcakes. We are getting ready to make some chocolate covered pretzels. We are going to a movie night party tonight and we are bringing some goodies along!!! Happy Friday. :)

silver cross I purchased off ebay.
i love crosses, candles, cherubs, etc. because I believe religion to be a personal thing and I feel like my house is a house of God--it is more sacred to me than any church, but that is just my opinion. :) Yes, we still attend church but God is our hearts so He follows us where we go.

A little "MOM"sense!!

Photobucket
I spent most of my weekend searching for the perfect white pen. Only a fellow crafter would understand my torment. It has to flow smoothly, be purely white and acid free. Ben bought me a Sharpie (the a/f version) at Hobby Lobby today but the tip may be too big.
Photobucket
Grrr... the cheapest price I can get online for a good white pen is $7. I am such a cheapskate that I would rather hold out.
Sunday I went to an antique gallery with my mom. Here are some fun purchases I made:
Photobucket
a wicker basket shelf thingy. I painted it white with light strokes, and now it holds my acrylic paints!!!
Photobucket
some vintage pics--I am making an album of them!
Photobucket
coin charm bracelet--I love jewelry
Photobucket
denim photo album
Photobucket
wood key holder. I painted it turquoise, then white and then distressed it
Photobucket
1960s tape dispenser
Photobucket
some Rockabilly buttons
Photobucket
papier mache star I plan to alter with paper
Guess what? Each item was 50-25 cents cents each! Total was under $7. I guess being a cheapskate pays off sometimes!!!
Harrison and Ben were at my in-laws while my mom and I shopped. Ben's dad is going to have back surgery but they found an aneurysm in his heart that they need to clear first. Keep Rip in your prayers! Thanks.
Then we took H and A.T. to the park to play. Harrison always declares it "his park" because it is almost always empty when we go and I am starting to think he really thinks he owns it!!
Photobucket
Monday Ben and I took Harrison to Chuck E Cheese. He wants to play every game now and do it by himself. He is good at skeeball!!
He told me he wants to grow up and be a pirate. :)
Photobucket
Tuesday we spent the whole day at grandma's. We watched Shrek and ate McDonald's. Harrison made my mom chase him around the house.
I went to Michaels and found this neat-o felt chandelier:
Photobucket
Then disaster struck!!!
My son got a hold of Baby Einstein lotion while mommy was showering. When I came out the WHOLE house was covered with lotion (even the pets!)
Photobucket
We had just recently invested in a steam carpet cleaner, and let me tell ya, we have used it daily!!!
Today A.T. came over and the boys played outside.
Photobucket
It is a good sign of a successful playdate when shoes are kicked off and toes end up covered with squished mud and grass!

New stuff...

here is some of my new stuff...I have been happily working in my cold scrap room. I have 3 or 4 more pages I need to share but I am too lazy to take pics/upload right now. I still have a teeny tiny bit of sewing to do on one anyway. So here are two that are ready now:
It says, "Life is short and so am I."
Photobucket
I love vintage stuff. I purposely put holes in the netting, did some scary sewing, and even put things (like the words, pics) askew. I wanted to not follow the rules on this layout.
I love it. :)
Paper was daisy d's and My Mind's Eye Bohemia collection.
My Audobon Card~
I used a Martha Stewart punch and some old clip art that I watercolored.
Photobucket
I like it also!! I got the inspiration to line up some butterflies from Ali Edward's blog:
http://www.aliedwards.typepad.com/
Tomorrow I have mom-daughter plans to go antiquing. Happy Sunday!

Thursday we totally stayed home and vegged.
Did get a cute pic of the cat pretending to be E.T. (remember that scene)?
Photobucket
Oh, and I did go to Michaels only to buy one item (insert shock!). I bought a Martha Stewart punch.
Photobucket
Friday and today we have been hanging out at the OK State Fair Park to buy books, videos/dvds/cds,etc from the library booksale. Books are 50 cents and movies/music 1.00. Such a bargain. And it all counts as a donation to the library! We got there at 3pm yesterday even though it did not start until 5:30. Some people had been there since that morning! Ben reserved our spot in line while Harrison and I went to McD's and On Cue gas station to grab goodies. Harrison did soooo good waiting in his red wagon and coloring.
Photobucket
This is the infamous OK State Fair needle. It is a fun ride but I would not know because I have never been brave enough to ride it.
Photobucket
My dh Ben lugging bags/boxes to get books!!
Photobucket
A display that kept my son entertained at the fairgrounds.
It was so crowded and really hot in the warehouse-like building. Most people were nice, and there were a few who would not let you by or tried to run ya over, but I guess if you want a good bargain you have to deal with that kinda stuff.
I have been a loyal booksale buyer since I was a kid so it is kinda a big deal around this household.
Ben and I split up. We call each other on our cellys to find each other. I always have Harrison in the big Radio Flyer. Last year, he kept throwing stuff out as I would put it in the wagon but this year he was all about helping mommy look to find him books and movies. I was happy I got a bunch of Martha Stewart and Creating Keepsake magazines. H got almost every Disney movie made. Ben got a mythology book. Everyone is happy. Just call us nerds.
We got some good stuff!
